After 6 years working in New York's garment district, Erna launched the Erna Leon label in 2008. In its first year, the label gained recognition for its intricate and stunning designs and, in July 2008, Erna was awarded the "Best in Class: Luxury Denim" award at Supima's inaugural Design Contest for Emerging Talent.
Erna Leon has quickly drawn a loyal following from those who adore her distinctly feminine, playful and whimsical yet elegant clothing - a stark contrast to the emotive and often darker nature of her art. Following the popularity of her collection at the Young Designers Market in SoHo, in May 2009, Erna opened her own boutique within the Edge NY store located on Bleecker street. Since then, her band of followers has continued to expand as more of New York's fashion conscious trendsetters discover Erna's unique collection crafted from rare and one of a kind vintage fabrics.
